Mrs Marilynn Morphet has been involved in the Dog Fraternity
for more than 45 years. During that time she has enjoyed success with her
Golden Retrievers in several states of Australia. In 1985 she joined the Trainee
Judges Scheme and since that time she has judged extensively in all states of
Australia and both islands of New Zealand. She is qualified to judge Gundogs,
Terriers, Hounds and the Working Dog Group at Championship Level and the
remaining Dog breeds at Open Show level. Mrs Morphet has been privileged to
judge at Gundog Specialties in Australia and New Zealand including officiating
at Golden Retriever Specialties on nine occasions. Other highlights include
officiating at Queensland’s Hound of the Year. Over the years she has held executive positions
on a number of All Breeds Dog Clubs in addition to being Australia’s National
Secretary for a large Specialist Breed Club. Mrs Morphet has lectured at Conferences in
Australia, New Zealand and the UK, one highlight being an invitation to speak
at the Seminar for the Centenary of the UK Golden Retriever Club in 2013 and she
is very much looking forward to speaking at Australia’s National Show at the
end of October 2014 and judging at the Golden Retriever Club of Canada National
Show in September 2015. Over the years Mrs Morphet has examined Trainee Judges
for elevation to Gundog Group Championship status. She is also the author
of a widely acclaimed Specialist Dog Book. Marilynn holds a Research Master’s Degree in
Biostatistics, is married to a Geologist and has three adult daughters. Other
main hobbies include creating exclusive dollshouses, collecting books and
antique dog figurines, painting, travelling and genealogy.
